ProActive Healthcare: chiropractic physical medicine for injures and better posture

Welcome to Our Clinic - Understanding Your Spine

We're here to tell you about our clinic and why taking care of your spine is super important. You might not know it, but there are three main types of spine injuries, and we're the experts at fixing them!

Three Types of Spine Injuries:

Fractures: These are like broken bones in your spine, and we use X-rays to spot them.
Disc Herniation: Imagine it like a cushion in your spine getting out of place.
Spinal Support Ligament Damage: These are special tissues that hold your spine together. If they get hurt, it can cause big problems.

Why Spinal Support Ligament Damage Matters:
This one is a big deal. When these ligaments get hurt, it can make your spine wobbly, like a loose joint in your knee. This can lead to pain, inflammation, and even make your joints wear out faster.

Symptoms:
Disc injuries mostly cause pain and nerve-related issues.
Spinal support ligament damage can lead to more problems like chronic back or neck pain and even headaches.

Why We're Different:
Not all doctors know how to find and treat these injuries. We're special because we do! We take your recovery seriously.

Our Goal:
We want you to get better and stay that way! Fixing spine injuries now can save you lots of trouble later on. So, stick with the treatment plan we create for you.

Be Part of Your Own Recovery:
We'll teach you how to help yourself heal and keep your spine healthy for life. Don't hesitate to talk to us about any concerns or questions.

Stay Stable:
Sometimes, during treatment, you might have a little setback. It's normal! Just come see us, and we'll get you back on track.

Supportive Care:
After you're feeling better, we might suggest some ongoing care to keep your spine strong.

Important Tips:
Share this info with your doctor and lawyer if you have one. They should know all about your injuries.

Good Posture and Better Health:
Remember, good posture is not just about looking confident. It's essential for your health and sports performance. We use computerized technology to help you improve your posture, move better, and feel great!

Personalized Care:
Unlike other places, we create a unique plan just for you. We study how you move, and that helps us fix any problems. This can make you a better athlete or relieve chronic pain.

In Simple Terms:
We check how you move your body and fix any issues. Your brain controls how you move, and we help it work better. This means you can feel awesome and do your best in sports!

Motor Vehicle Crash Rehabilitation: Managing Pain and Finding the Mechanism of Injury
Motor vehicle crashes can result in injuries that require specialized rehabilitation to manage pain and promote recovery. Understanding the mechanism of your injury is crucial in developing an effective treatment plan. Our treatment aims to guide you through the process of motor vehicle crash rehabilitation, pain management, and finding the underlying cause of your injury.

Consultation with Our Primary Care Spine Physician:
Start your rehabilitation journey by consulting with a primary care spine physician (PCSP) or spinal injury expert. We will conduct a comprehensive evaluation, considering your medical history and performing a physical examination. Make sure to provide detailed information about the crash or injury, the pain you're experiencing, and any additional symptoms.

Diagnostic Tests:
Based on your examination, your PCSP may order diagnostic tests such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, or other imaging studies. These tests can help identify structural damage, fractures, soft tissue injuries, or other crash-related conditions.

Specialist Referral:
Following the diagnostic tests, your PCSP may refer you to a specialist who can further evaluate and treat your specific injuries. The type of specialist will depend on the nature of your injury. For example, orthopedic surgeons can address orthopedic injuries, while neurologists can assess neurological symptoms.

Rehabilitation Specialist:
Rehabilitation specialists play a vital role in motor vehicle crash rehabilitation. We offer physical rehabilitation for restoring function, managing pain, and enhancing your quality of life. TWe will design a personalized treatment plan that may include physical therapy, occupational therapy, pain management techniques, and other interventions.

Pain Management Specialist:
If your pain persists or is severe, a pain management specialist can provide specialized care. These specialists have extensive experience in managing chronic pain and can offer various treatments such as medications, injections, nerve blocks, physical modalities, and behavioral interventions.

Collaborative Approach:
Throughout your rehabilitation process, a collaborative approach among healthcare professionals is essential. Specialists will work together to assess your progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide comprehensive care. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that all aspects of your injury and pain are addressed effectively.

What Makes Our Care Unique

Pain neuroscience: we check the different pain fibers going to the area of pain. Sometimes the body wants hot, cold, vibration, compression, KT tape, or another stimulation.

Movement Neurology: we determine if all your joints are moving fully in all directions. If they are not we determine if it is a muscle, nerve or receptor issue and give you ways to make changes. We walk you through how to move all your joints in all normal movement patterns.

Sports Vision Training: your body will make posture changes if you have poor vision function in one or both eyes. If you have a weaker left eye you may be changing your head to use the right eye more. You may have 20/20 vision when you are standing still and looking at a non-moving target, but vision get worse when you are moving or the target is changing positions.

Vestibular rehabilitation: this is a system found in your ears that control balance and vision when you are moving either your head or body. If this system is not working you will experience vertigo/dizziness, motion sickness, or may just have lower energy because it strains your visual system which uses much of your body’s fuel.

Respiratory rehabilitation and training: if you are not having proper inhalation or exhalation or your diaphragm muscle is too tight, your brain is probably not getting enough oxygen or an improper balance of oxygen/carbon dioxide. This can lead to fatigue, muscle tightness and improper brain function. We assess for hyperventilation and arrhythmia breathing patterns. If you have dysfunctions we will show you how to breath better for better movement or pain relief.

Modern strength and mobility training: we offer strengthening programs but ours are unique for brain function. It is strange but we may only us resistant training for one side of the body for a few weeks to improve pain on the opposite side of the body. Our goal is for you to have full mobility in your neck, back, shoulders, elbow, wrists, hips, knees and feet with no pain.

We Help You

Our typical patients include those who are suffering from:

  • Chronic illness, chronic pain
  • Chronic stress, anxiety, trauma
  • Poor sense of balance, trouble walking
  • Headaches and back pain
  • Breathing and digestion problems

By identifying and training underperforming parts of the brain, we can achieve almost immediate gains in performance, including:

  • Strength, flexibility &range of movement
  • Balance
  • Coordination
  • Vision
  • Activity-specific skills

Your body only performs as well as your brain lets it. If your brain is underperforming, your body underperforms too. So, it makes sense that your brain should be at the heart of everything you do to improve your movements.
